Chapeltown Band announce the resignation of their Musical Director, Colum O’Shea.
It is with great shock and sadness, Chapeltown Band have received the resignation of Colum O’Shea owing to his increased family commitments.
Colum was offered the MD role back in October 2021, but had worked with us a few times before. Over the last three years the band has enjoyed successful concerts, varied contests and well attended rehearsals.
Giving his resignation Colum particularly remarks on his happiness to stabilise the band after covid and gives his best wishes to the band for the future. Under his baton, the band has made many excellent signings, explored different ventures and overall made progress within the band room. The exciting concerts and contest projects, again are a particular highlight of his.
Colums last engagement with the band will be this Sunday, the 22nd December at the Chapeltown Methodist Church.
Percussionist and librarian of the band, Cathryn will also relinquish her role with the band.
Whilst this is obviously very sad news, we would like to wish Colum, Cathryn and their growing family well and thank them for their collective efforts to Chapeltown over recent years. We hope they remain friends of the band, that we will still see them from time to time and we can’t wait to see their new addition too!
